Raf's 200ml handmade Hohin

The Hōhin (宝瓶) is a traditional Japanese brewing vessel designed for delicate and premium teas, particularly Gyokuro and high-grade Sencha. This 200 ml edition is the first Hōhin of its kind produced in Iran by Raf, inspired by Eastern minimalist aesthetics and the refined principles of Japanese tea brewing.
Its unglazed stoneware body, wide opening, and perforated internal filter allow precise low-temperature brewing while gently extracting the finest aromas and flavors from whole tea leaves. The handle-free design is rooted in the Japanese tradition of brewing leaf teas, creating a simple, precise, and nature-inspired brewing experience.
Within the Sencha-dō tradition, which emerged during the Edo period alongside the growing popularity of loose-leaf teas in Japan, the Hōhin represents simplicity, mindfulness, and a focus on the true character of the tea. Its production in Iran marks a step toward bringing specialized tea-brewing tools into local craftsmanship.
